We must always keep in mind that a fingerprint is made with the intention of standardizing all the variables involved in the printing process, with the aim of guaranteeing precise, predictable and consistent results. How often to repeat it depends on multiple factors, but the most frequent are:

• Change of supplier of ink, substrate, sticky back, flexographic plates, etc. Since each supplier has its own formulations and properties, by repeating the test, you will avoid having compatibility, performance and consistency problems during the run.

• Replacement of some key component of the press, such as the printing cylinder, ink rollers, registration systems, etc. To assess how it interacts with other components and see if there is any impact on stability and quality, even opening up opportunities to improve printing press performance.

• Changes in print quality standards or the introduction of new requirements in terms of higher resolution, more accurate colors or increased durability, to see if print results conform to the new standards and/or take steps to comply with them.

• When you have persistent print quality problems, such as defects or inconsistencies, to identify and fix the cause.

• When your press has had more intense use than usual.

• And/or the quality needs of a specific job.

If none of these cases is your scenario, the basic recommendation is to repeat the test at least once a year. This allows you to check and adjust print parameters to maintain quality and consistency.

Please note that these are general guidelines, and the exact frequency may vary depending on the specific circumstances of each press and the type of production.

In any case, it is advisable to consult experts or equipment manufacturers to obtain more precise and personalized recommendations. If you have not yet taken this test, we invite you to do so. We have a qualified team to carry out these tests. We assure you that your printing process will be a before and after.
