The CDI, technology that changed the course of flexographic printing

Since Cyrel Digital Imager (CDI) technology for digital plate production was presented at the Drupa Expo in 1995, statistically it can be said that 27 years later, more than 90% of digital flexo plates are exposed on an Esko, Cyrel Digital Imager (CDI).

CDI are the most popular digital flexo plates scanners and continue to further improve quality. They cover a wide range of flexo printing applications: from narrow web label printing to wide format corrugated cardboard printing. Its function is to engrave through a laser, the black film that covers the plate, to define the engraving conditions in general.

This technology represents a great advance for the flexographic printing industry, which has had excellent results, making possible advanced screening methods and the automation of the plate room, which were previously fairly achievable by means of Offset or Gravure.

Esko’s Cyrel Digital Imager (CDI) family is the answer for those printers looking for solutions on how to do it better, faster, more profitable and endless concerns aimed at achieving better results.
