Green packaging = A healthy planet

  • by

You may have ever seen the term ecological packaging and have wondered what is different from those that are not? Simply put, green packaging is packaging designed to be environmentally friendly, meaning it has minimal impact on the environment. This type of packaging can be made from recycled materials, biodegradable materials, or even renewable resources.

As our population grows we consume more and more resources, so it is important that we find ways to reduce our impact on the environment. Ecological packaging helps us to do it, its manufacture is carried out with biodegradable materials, reducing dependency.

There are different types of ecological packaging materials, among the most common we have:

• Recycled paper: it is a great option for ecological packaging because its production requires less energy and water than virgin paper, as well as being recyclable.

• Biodegradable Plastic: Biodegradable plastic is made from renewable resources like cornstarch or sugar cane. Unlike normal plastic, which can take hundreds of years to decompose, biodegradable plastic decomposes in just a few months.

• Bamboo: Bamboo is an incredibly strong and versatile material that can be used for everything from furniture to flooring to packaging. Bamboo is also environmentally friendly because it is a renewable resource that does not need chemicals or pesticides to grow.

Why are they so important?

Much of the waste that is in the environment is derived from oil, which is causing a great impact on our ecosystem, and that is where the importance of being more aware and taking action on this issue lies. Today there are different types of ecological packaging materials on the market, which are changing the concept, expanding their uses and functions.

So if you’re looking for ways to reduce your environmental impact and preserve our planet for future generations, consider choosing eco-friendly packaging.
